Way to Earn that iPod

It takes more than one day to earn an iPod, I understand that. (Even if the iPod was almost half off.)

It takes a few consecutive days of wanting a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and/or another light beer and having neither. I went upstairs, brushed my teeth and went to bed! It was awesome.

Weight control tip #357: KEEP BUSY. I had so much to do with my hands last night that I couldn't eat more than what I had allocated for dinner.

I stocked my house with food as well. Some people claim that is a bad idea, but I found with Weight Watchers that the more food options I have in front of me a) the better decisions I make and b) the less I eat. I eat less because I'm more fulfilled by the yummy food options!

And yes, I've tried a lot of weight loss programs and diets. I could endorse one way or another but ideally, I will win this war under my own command. It's cheaper and more fulfilling. But WW does work. If this doesn't, I'll go back to wanting to achieve lifetime status. Just need to find a meeting I like at a time that works...lots of factors when I still am ultimately going to have to be the one in control.

Weight Watchers is an excellent support group. The accountability systems are superb. The weekly weigh-ins are a great way to keep your focus. But ultimately, it comes down to this:

THE INDIVIDUAL BATTLES - Whether you are counting points, calories, carbs, fat or days until your bridesmaid dress arrives, each moment you are faced with a decision to make and you have to think thin. Focus on one of two things: 1) What is my goal and which option will get me closer to it? 2) Can I afford to eat this or or not work out?

A few other questions to ask: Am I allowing myself a treat? Am I going to eat this in moderation?

Deprivation doesn't work.

I hate to say "think thin". As a society, we should be WAY less obsessed with being thin than we are. But think about how much healthier we are when we have less meat on our bones. It's better for our joints, organs, and psyche. Also, let's call a spade what it is: a freakin' spade. I WANT TO BE THIN.

Which gets us back to The Secret. It's a way to think the things you want to happen in your life into reality. If you are constantly thinking something bad is going to happen to you, you open up yourself to that. You welcome that negativity. Instead if you think about what you want, you will ultimately achieve it. You get back what you put out there. You basically think yourself into where you want to be - financially, emotionally, AND PHYSICALLY.

So, as bad as it may sound, THINK THIN. You think those women (yes, remember them) that seemingly eat whatever they want don't think about being thin? Think again.

And just in case you missed it...
